Philippines Catriona Gray enters Top 24 of Miss World 2016 Beauty With A Purpose Round

After making it to the Top 10 Talent Competition in Miss World 2016, our country’s representative Catriona Gray made it to the Top 24 of Beauty With A Purpose round. 
The news came from the Miss World Organization website
Beauty with a Purpose program is a registered charity and a non-profit organization associated with Miss World. It raises money and participates in humanitarian projects across the world. This is the most important fast track event of the competition. 
Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Gray BWAP is Paraiso – The Bright Beginnings Project, which aims to fund and create a school for children in garbage sites. To know more about it just click the link here.

WATCH: Philippines finished Top 25 in Miss Supranational 2016 (Full List of Winners)

Our bet Miss Philippines Joanna Eden finished Top 25 in the Miss Supranational 2016 competition. Srinidhi Shetty of India was crowned Miss Supranational 2016. She was the second title holder from India. The pageant was held in Krynica, Poland last December 2, 2016.

 

Joanna Deapera Eden is currently in her second year at the De La Salle University studying International Studies major in American. She has a penchant for music and knows how to play the flute and saxophone.

(Full List of Winners) Miss Philippines is Miss Asia Pacific International 2016 2nd Runner Up

After more than a decade Miss Asia Pacific International pageant is back. The final night was held in Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Philippines last November 23, 2016.

Ganiel Krishnan when she was awarded as 2nd runner up

Host delegate, Miss Philippines Ganiel Krishnan did not disappoint us, because she placed 2nd Runner Up. Ganiel is Half Indian – Singaporean, half Filipina. She’s 22 years old and a Star Magic Talent. Currently, she’s working as a Courtside reporter for the UAAP’s broadcast coverage of ABS-CBN Sports+Action, who report for the FEU Tamaraws varsity teams.
Miss Netherlands Tessa Le Conge Crowning moment
Tessa Le Conge of the Netherlands was crowned at the end of the night beating 39 other gorgeous girls.

(Full List of Winners) Philippines bet wins 1st Runner Up in Miss Scuba International 2016

Another 1st runner up finish for the Philippines!. Meryl Angeline King, 27 years old registered nurse from Albay almost did a back to back win in Miss Scuba International 2016 next to Miss India.

During the Q&A round Meryl was asked “What do you think is the essence of winning the pageant?”. Her answer was “We become more passionate in protecting our ocean, I would raise awareness involving NGO’s, students, communities and the government to stand in one in promoting marine biodiversity and protect and save the ocean”.

Miss Scuba International is a competition devoted in protecting our oceans through safe diving practices. The pageant was held in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

WATCH: 6 Miss International Crown, 1 Country, the Philippines

Fresh from the victory of Kylie Verzosa, our 6th Miss International title holder lets go back from memory lane and look back at the other 5 gorgeous Filipina who brought honor to our country.

Gemma Cruz. The first Filipina to win the Miss International title. The pageant was held in Long Beach, California, USA on August 14, 1964. She donated the US$10,000 prize money she won as Miss International to Manila Boys Town and Girls Home, a place where indigent and out of school youth is housed, in Marikina City, Philippines.
Aurora McKenney Pijuan. She won Miss International in Osaka, Japan on May 16, 1970. She made a record for the Philippines as the first country to win the title twice. She’s the mother of TJ Manotoc, the famous news anchor and sportscaster of ABS-CBN, ANC, and ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23. She is currently an active member of the Gawad Kalinga movement in the rural areas of the Philippines.

Mimilanie Marquez
. Mimilanie aka Melanie is the youngest Filipina to compete in Miss International competition at the age of 15. She was crowned in Tokyo, Japan on November 12, 1979. She’s a successful model, actress and personality development coach.

Precious Lara Quigaman
. She was the fourth Filipina to win the Miss International crown. She won Best in National Costume as well during the pageant on September 26, 2005. Currently, she’s still active as an actress in the Philippines.

Bea Rose Santiago
. She was crowned on December 17, 2013. After winning she dedicated her crown to the victims of the super typhoon Yoland (Haiyan). Currently Bea is working as a model and a host.

Kylie Verzosa
. Finally the latest Filipina to have won the Miss International title. Kylie was crowned on October 27, 2016. Before joining beauty pageant, she worked as a model and a preschool teacher.
Miss International is a Tokyo-based international beauty pageant organized by The International Culture Association. The pageant was first held in 1960. Along with Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss Earth, this pageant is one of the Big Four international beauty pageants- the most coveted beauty titles when it comes to international pageant competitions.
